We are proud to be at the very heart of the town, the oldest school in Banbury with foundations back to 1705 as a Blue Coat School. We serve a diverse community, with pupils from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and religious traditions.
"The school is characterised by excellent behaviour and attitudes."

OPAL is joyful, adventurous, and full of possibility. We believe children learn best when they can climb, build, explore, imagine, and take manageable risks in a supportive environment. "Risky play" doesn't mean unsafe play it means giving children the freedom to test themselves, build confidence, solve problems, and develop resilience through real experiences.
DT in action. How can you use moving mechanisms to help solve a problem in a model theatre setting? Not quite sure? Ask Year 6, we can help you! We loved exploring different mechanisms and starting to construct our model theatres
Year 6 did it! What a brilliant week truly showing our values in action during their SATs week. We are so proud of them
This week to build onto our geography learning, Year 3 explored human and physical features in the UK. The children sorted photographs into physical or human features before completing drawings and explanations to show their understanding of the difference between human and physical features. We were very impressed with their use of geographical vocabulary and thoughtful explanations throughout the lesson!
It's been a brilliant couple of weeks across our Forest School groups, with children building confidence and trying new things. Many have challenged themselves to tie a clove hitch, giving them the independence to create their own zip wires and slack lines including a proud moment when one child tied a line strong enough for their whole group to hang off of! Alongside this, we've had epic games of hide and seek using our camouflage cape, created beautiful elder bead necklaces and seen children growing in confidence as they challenge themselves and try new things in the trees. A wonderful mix of teamwork, creativity and developing independence in the woods.

Although it was a short week, it was certainly a busy one! Alongside preparing for their class worship, Fledglings have been hard at work exploring different ways to make 10, enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors, and developing their fine motor skills.

Last week was another exciting week for Year 4. Our first cricket lesson went really well, and we practised our bowling skills. We also used the GarageBand app to practice recording and editing our own audio. We learned that the perfect audio needs vocal clarity and a quiet background. We are excited to soon begin planning our very own podcast.
Our fabulous play leaders often initiate games for other children but can be great role models by having fun with their play. Enjoy this week's fabulous five!
Educating children about how to stay safe Online is essential in the technology world we live in. This week PC Rob came in and discussed this with the whole school. He then ran a parent session after school. Remember the toothpaste, you can't get it back in once you have squeezed it out, just like when you put something online you can't then take it down it will still exist somewhere. How do you ensure your child is safe online? Have you set up parental controls? Do you monitor what your children are doing?
Wednesday was full of wonder and amazement as our fledglings travelled to Oxford, stepping into their favourite stories brought to life at the Story Museum
