Since learning about the wonderful benefits of tourism in geography, Year 1 have been busy writing persuasive texts encouraging people to visit our wonderful market town. The children loved learning about persuasive language and thoroughly enjoyed drafting, writing and editing their texts. Have a look at some of the incredible finished pieces below! We are all extremely proud of the children.

They have also learned about subtracting and adding numbers. In maths, Skylarks have been working fantastically. They are very fluent with their times tables and many other things! Skylarks have been giving us comments, I love school because I learn new things there. My favourite subject is art, I love painting! -Maya. Hello again guys, I am writing this part of our blog with a new partner this week. My partner is Eric. This week, we are going to be talking about playground leaders. So you may be wondering "What is playground leader?", well a playground leader is a person in year six who leads activities with Key Stage 2 in the first part of the lunchtime and then Fledglings, year 1 and year 2 in the second half of the lunchtime. We can play parachute games such as fruit salad - where you tell the children a fruit and when the parachute goes up you say a fruit and the children that you said that fruit to run under and out. Some other games we can play are games with hoops, bean bag toss and stuck in the mud. We hope that we are making play time more fun at St Mary’s. |
